The first edition came out in 2019, but The "Final Cut" of Disco Elysium was developed and self published by "ZA/UM Studio." It was released for PlayStation on March 30th, 2021 with all other platforms' versions coming out in October of that same year.

Disco Elysium is a top down semi-isometric, Point-and-Click, narrative RPG with simple puzzles. You play as the drunk detective after a huge weekend bender doing everything to avoid your job. Waking up with your mind basically wiped clean from the booze, you get to choose how to play your character and how to approach solving the case! You were sent to solve a murder/hanging and due to your incompetence, the body has been hanging for 7 days. Time to get sleuthing!

When Sperg Snake pitched me this game I had no idea what to expect from it. I checked it out on steam and fell in love with the art style immediately. After I watched half the trailer and I saw it was a story based on choice, I was sold. I'll say this game was astonishing from front to back.

The final cut version of the game is fully professionally voice acted and at all times the writing and the acting had me laughing and sometimes crying. Your character is mentally unwell and is constantly debating and talking to himself and even his own clothing. Battling for who and what will come out of your mouth. Its told from the perspective of all the quirks and personality traits of your detective. Such as Shivers, the power to deduce things almost anywhere just based on "Vibes." Use your own savoir faire to gain advantage over your peers and those around you while you crawl the city in the late night, looking for any and all leads on the case.
